Abstract

Summary In this paper, the Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney rank-sum test and Mood's median test for the univariate two-sample location problem have been extended to the case of two variables, following a conditional approach. Various properties of the proposed tests have been studied and their asymptotic powers compared.
