Stochastic model for particle movement in turbulent open channel flow

Abstract
A stochastic model of suspended solid movement in turbulent open channel flow has been developed which can be used to calculate not only concentration distributions but also bed load transport rates. The stochastic model gives a statement of probability for the instant movement of a particle. By a Monte Carlo simulation many random walks are calculated to determine concentration, step lengths and resting periods distributions which determine bed load rates.
