Abstract
By a numerical study of finite-size lattices a picture is presented of the spin correlations around a hole in the almost-half-filled band Hubbard model. Using an effective Hamiltonian in the large-U limit, systems with up to 15 sites have been studied. In the same limit the two-hole correlation has been calculated and a weak attraction found between the two holes at finite, compared to infinite U. .AEKeywords
