Abstract
A novel finite-element method for the analysis of dielectric waveguide problems is formulated using the transverse magnetic-field component. In this approach, the relation | H = 0 is satisfied and the spurious nonphysical solutions are completely eliminated in the whole region of propagation diagram.Keywords
