Abstract
The incidence of this disease is diminishing but is still high in young adult women. There is hope for recovery if the pulmonary lesion is slight. Galvanocautery relieves the pain and assists in healing in some cases. For local application Burmese chaUlmoogra oil gave the best results. The Burmese oil is specified because it contains a higher % of chaulmoogric acid than other commercial oils. It is diluted with an equal amt. of olive oil and applied with a swab or laryngeal syringe twice a week. U.-v. light helps some patients. The precautions in this treatment are noted. Sanatorium regime and vocal rest are still the mainstays of treatment. 12 references. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
