Abstract
An equimolar mixture of a ketone and formic acid was heated without solvent at 125°C for 3 h in the presence of a catalytic amount of dichlorotris(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II) to give the corresponding secondary alcohols in excellent yields.Keywords
