Abstract
In the corneal epithelium of the calf, ox, rabbit and rat there is evidence of the existance of "alkaline" phosphatase. In the fixed corneal cells (except some stromal cells in the rat cornea), Descemet''s membrane and endothelium of the calf, ox and rabbit, the phosphatase reaction is negative. There was positive phosphatase reaction in the corneal endothelium of the rat. The presence of phosphatase in the pig cornea has not been proved his-tochemically.Keywords
