Abstract
IN A LIST of more than 380 technical problems affecting the defense of the United States prepared by the National Inventors Council (Office of Technical Services, U. S. Department of Commerce) appears the following item under the general heading of Power Supplies: ¿741. AC Generators ¿ Constant frequency, variable speed AC Generators.¿ This is but one indication of the importance attached today to the problem of constant-frequency a-c generation, particularly with regard to air-borne applications. In recent years, many solutions to this problem have been proposed, developed and, in some instances, specific constant-frequency generating systems have been actually utilized in aircraft and guided missiles. Keywords
