Abstract
Isomeric methoxyoxindoles are metabolised by rats, guinea-pigs and rabbits to phenolic metabolites by O-demethylation and hydroxylation. This has been shown by comparison of the physical characteristics of the metabolites with those of standard synthetic hydroxyoxindoles. Negligible O-demethylation of methoxyoxindoles occurs with rat or guinea-pig liver microsome preparations, when compared with those of rabbit, but significant O-demethylation occurs with rat liver slices. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
