Abstract
The authors discuss the manufacture of large steam turbine-driven generators touching on what is considered the best practises of the present day. A description of a 62,500-kv-a. 60-cycle generator is included together with test data. The fact is brought out that even on the largest generators yet built, moderate temperatures may be expected. The losses and ventilation problems involtved in this type of apparatus are discussed, and predictions made as to the probable sizes at given speeds which may be expected in ihe future. Keywords
