‘‘Superlattices’’ in quenched Al-Si-Mn quasicrystals

Abstract
Melt-quenched and alloys were found to exhibit icosahedral symmetry with a ‘‘superlattice-like’’ diffraction pattern which can be reproduced from the pattern observed in quasicrystals with a scaling relationship defined by the golden mean.
