Abstract
This paper explores the partnership between social services and primary care, in one geographical area, in relation to five potential types of obstacle: structural; procedural; financial; professional; and status and legitimacy. It examines the theory of partnership and the Government’s attitude towards it. It uses semi‐structured interviews with a range of stakeholders to study partnership in practice. Finally, it highlights some of the challenges for the future. Keywords
