Mechanical and Other Factors Affecting Oil Spray Deposits*

Abstract
After several years of work on spray deposits with the building and setting up of apparatus, as well as the study of the various factors involved, the authors realized that certain mechanical factors must be considered. Due to the precision required in laboratory deposit tests and the fact that these tests are comparative it is necessary that the mechanical factors concerned with the procedure be carefully regulated. It has been found, as will be brought out, that variation and irregularity in the mechanical factors may decidedly affect the results obtained.
