Abstract
Ferrofluids containing gadolinium and iron particles in the size range 80-750 Å in diameter have been prepared by evaporating gadolinium and iron onto a mercury surface in an argon atmosphere at a controlled pressure. The particle sizes are determined by electron microscopy and identified by microprobe analysis. Keywords
