Abstract
A novel tunable fibre bandpass filter based on a linearly chirped fibre Bragg grating (LCFBG) has been demonstrated. The transmission peaks in the LCFBG stopband are electronically induced by controlling the strain distribution along the LCFBG using a piezoelectric stack. Transmission peaks with 0.58 nm bandwidth and 10.6 dB rejection ratio have been achieved with a tuning step of 0.28 nm over a range of 10 nm.Keywords
