Abstract
In expts. using 40 albino rats, ages 30-108 days, follicule-stimulating hormone from menopausal and castrate blood and urine was found to induce premature testicular descent in normal immature animals. It produced significant increases in testes wt. in both mature and immature rats, and an increase in interstitial tissue. Tubular diam. was increased in the older rats. Increased germinal proliferation was noted microscopically; maturation was not hastened. The hormone had no effect on general body growth. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
