Abstract
Following admn. of Nembutal, the total acetylcholine (ACh) found in rat or cat brain rises to a high maximum. It falls as anesthesia wears off but can be raised again by further admn. of the drug. Other anesthetics also increase the ACh level. Following metrazol or picrotoxin admn., the ACh level is lowered in nembutalized cats but somewhat raised in unnarcotized cats. Keywords
