A Large-Seale Test with DDT to Control the Japanese Beetle

Abstract
DDT at the rate of 25 lbs./ acre was applied to 250 acres of land in 1945 against a well-established, isolated infestation of Popillia japonica in N. Carolina. The DDT prevented the normal increase in the population in 1945 and by 1946 had reduced the population to a relatively low level. The population remained at this low level through 1948.- W. E. Fleming.
