Abstract
This paper shows the first known telemetry and remote monitoring design for an Automatic Atmospheric Vapour Phase Mercury Analyser. The peripheral design and set-up are built to operate the Tekran® 2537A through telemetry and remote monitoring. This design permits remote control of some specific operations (zero/span, interference test, reboot, etc.) and the transfer of files from host to remote sites. The applications of this set-up permit easier monitoring facilities, real time data acquisition, the use of the analyser in hazardous environments or in remote areas. Some preliminary results of the application are presented (e.g.- interference test and gradient flux measurements). Such a design and set-up may be useful in the operation of a national or international mercury network as well as for research purposes.Keywords
