Abstract
Calculations of electron-impact excitation of the b 3 Sigma u+ state of H2 have been carried out using the complex Kohn variational approach. Two-state close-coupling results were obtained with molecular target wavefunctions that properly dissociate to neutral atoms. The R dependence of the fixed-nuclei results was used to obtain the dissociation cross section as a function of the initial vibrational state of H2.Keywords
