Abstract
Two questionnaires, administered to selected treatment staff of institutions for retarded persons, discriminated not only among living units within these facilities but among the facilities themselves, were only minimally related to the staffs' background characteristics, and were relatively stable over time. Consequently these instruments show promise for determining the differential effects of various residential or treatment environments upon the development of retarded persons. Keywords
