Complexes of organoaluminium compounds. Part III. Reactions of diethylamides with ammonia, amines, and methanol

Abstract
The compounds Et2AlNR1 2(R = H, alkyl) react with amines R2 2NH to give derivatives Et2AlNR2 2 under mild conditions if R2 2N preceeds R1 2N in the series: H2N > HMeN > HButN > Me2N. The methylamido-compound, Et2AlNHMe was isolated as a stable trimer and the t-butylamido-compound Et2AlNHBut as a dimer. Mass spectra are discussed. The derivatives (EtAlNMe)8 and (EtAlNBut)4 are described.
