Abstract
Rabbits placed on a potassium deficient diet showed mean time constants of muscle recovery curves of 3.4 + 0.3 mseconds. This is a significant prolongation from the normal value of 1.6 i 0.1 mseconds determined previously in control animals and in those with cortisone myopathy. Potassium deficiency caused a degeneration of muscle similar to that seen in cortisone myopathy. Keywords
