The New Cellular Immunology

Abstract
Cellular immunology concerns the immunological events following exposure to antigens. Macrophages are important in “presenting” antigen to thymus-derived (T) lymphocytes. These cells are activated in reactions of cell-mediated immunity (delayed hypersensitivity). T lymphocytes may also “help” bone marrow-derived (B) lymphocytes which then proceed to manufacture and export antibodies (immuno-globulins).
