Abstract
Very high optical quality single crystals of LaF3, CeF3, PrF3, and NdF3 have been grown. With a multiport graphite crucible, as many as six crystals have been prepared in a single experiment. The crystals were grown in a dynamic helium‐hydrogen fluoride atmosphere in a modified Stockbarger‐type furnace. Ion exchange purification methods have resulted in LaF3 crystals transparent to 0.14 μ.This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
