Abstract
The indirect immunoperoxidase technique (IIP) was applied to the assay of antibodies against M. gallisepticum and M. synoviae in chicken serum by using colonies grown on the agar plate as antigen. The sensitivity and the specificity of IIP were evaluated by the use of sera from experimentally infected, field and SPF chickens. As compared with tube agglutination and hemagglutination-inhibition tests, IIP was highly effective and specific for detecting antibodies against M. gallisepticum and M. synoviae.
