Abstract
Adsorption properties of rare earth elements toward a cross-linked polystyrene resin having functional groups structurally similar to nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) have been studied. The selectivity sequence of the resin for a series of rare earth metals was in good accordance with that of the corresponding stability constants of NTA complexes. The chromatographic separation of Pr(III) and Nd(III) has been achieved merely by elution with 0.1 mol dm−3 hydrochloric acid. Keywords
