Limiting Behaviour of Inclusive Baryon Spectra

Abstract
Single-particle distributions of protons and hyperons in proton-hadron collisions are examined. The shapes and energy dependences of them are described by “an interpolation formula” proposed previously, by assuming the dominance of the HP type which exhibits the limiting behaviour in the proton fragmentation region. Expecially, the behaviour of them at small x agrees with the double-Regge aspect of the formula. In addition to the HP type, the diffractive contribution is important for the proton spectra at x ∼1, and the development of a dip in the spectra at x ≃0.9 is due to the decrease of the latter with increasing energy.
