Abstract
A micorhardness tester has been developed for use in the temperature range 10 to 1400°C, with loads up to 1 kg. The apparatus utilizes a uniform strength beam instrumented with strain gauges for load determination. Temperature control, load control, holding time at full load, and the indenting process itself are performed remotely and automatically, thus facilitating the testing of radioactive specimens. Keywords
