The Chemical Constituents of Australian Flindersia Species. XVIII. The Structure of Ifflaionic Acid

Abstract
The structure of ifflaionic acid has been shown to be 3-oxours-12-en-30-oic acid by degradation and by conversion to derivatives of a-amyrin. The acid has been isolated also from the bark and the leaves of Flindersia ifflaiana F. Muell.; in addition, seselin and sitosterol were obtained from the bark.
