Identification of Two Novel Cocaine Metabolites in Bile by Gas Chromatography and Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry in a Case of Acute Intravenous Cocaine Overdose

Abstract
Cocaine and five of its metabolites were detected in an alkaline extraction of human bile by gas chromatography and were identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Among the metabolites identified were benzoylecgonine, hydroxycocaine, methylecgonidine, methylecgonine, and norcocaine. Very little information has appeared until now regarding methylecgonidine, methylecgonine, and hydroxycocaine.
