Abstract
37 monkeys (Macaca mulatta) of both sexes, 5 to 7 lbs.,were exposed to radiation doses of 400, 550, 600, 700 and 800 r/air (250 kv.,15 ma.,5 mm.Cu and 1.0 mm.Al filters, HVL=1.7 mm.Cu). The LD50 30 days was estimated as approx. 600 r. The clinical course of the radiation syndrome is descr. Nausea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal disturbances were noted but epilation and cutaneous hemorrhages were not encountered as regularly as in other spp. Keywords
