Abstract
The acceptance probabilities of sampling plans where the proportion defective, p, in the lots being submitted follows a beta distribution is discussed. A formula to compute the probabilities of lot acceptance once the distribution has been estimated is provided. These probabilities are compared to traditional (p fixed) operating characteristic values. An example is given to demonstrate how an analysis of this type can be useful. Keywords
