Abstract
An enzyme system is described which degrades the 17,21-dihydroxy-20-ketone side-chain of adrenocortical steroids. The enzyme system requires added nicotinamide, anerobiosis, and isotonic conditions for optimum activity. The enzyme system was found only in liver. Keywords
