Abstract
Ten asthmatic patients performed 2 exercise tests 2 h apart on 2 days after inhalation of metaproterenol dose aerosol (1.5 mg) or placebo. Metaproterenol was effective in preventing exercise-induced asthma when administered 15 min before exercise but the duration of this protective effect was less than 2 h in most subjects.
