Lankshear. the first phase of a study to investigate the describes a Study attitudes of tutors and clinical teachers to the assessment of student nurses This article arose out of material gathered in the first phase of a study to investigate the attitudes of tutors ans clinical teachers to the assessment of student nurses. The first phase involved bringing together randomly selected groups of clinical assessors and nurse teachers in discussion groups and, with the help of six ‘trigger questions’, allowing them to identify and explore what were, to them, the important issues in the field.
