Abstract
Optical and electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements have been made on a type Ila diamond, electron irradiated at room temperature and isochronally annealed to high temperatures. It was found that the ESR centre R4/W6 formed when the vacancy becomes mobile. Evidence supporting a divacancy model for R4/W6 is presented. Keywords
