The Production of an Antifungal Antibiotic by Streptomyces griseus

Abstract
The strain of S. griseus that produces streptomycin has been found to produce another antibiotic which differs from streptomycin in being ether-soluble, inactive against bacteria, and active against a number of fungi, including the pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans.
