Abstract
Describes a monolithic high-feature per-channel companded PCM coder/decoder (codec) and implications of the advanced architecture for fixed and variable time slot applications. Technology tradeoffs are identified, and implementation of the critical analog circuit functions in n-channel MOS technology is discussed. These circuits include the first commercial embodiment of a novel buried ion voltage reference. Keywords
