Abstract
The relationship between nonlinear effective area (Aeff) and mode field diameter (MFD) is presented for the first time. The correction factor k of Aeff and MFD (= Aeff/[(π/4) MFD2]) is found to be ~0.944 for various dispersion shifted fibres (DSFs).Keywords
