Abstract
A 28 yr old man complained of chronic constipation traced back to childhood. Contrast study of the distal colon showed a large fecaloma with narrowing of the distal rectum, suggestive of Hirschsprung''s disease. Histological examination revealed the absence of ganglion cells consistent with Hirschsprungs''s disease. The clinical presentation in adults is very similiar to that in children. All patients with the diagnosis of Hirschsprungs''s disease should be treated surgically. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
