Abstract
An operative method of treatment of radial club-hand deformities is described which maintains the hand in normal alignment on the distal ulnar epiphysis and uses long-term transepiphyseal rod fixation. Experience with five hands in three patients yielded strong evidence that with a large smooth rod through the center of the ulnar epiphysis the epiphysis will grow provided it is not injured during surgery. The cosmetic results were excellent and function seemed to develop better than would have been expected without surgery. Keywords
