Abstract
This paper looks at community radio in Australia. It discusses the reasons why government radio sectors are reluctant to give independent voices from indigenous and ethnic migrant groups access to airways. It shows how community radio is able to provide this and why it appears as a threat to some people. Finally, it delves into the future of the Australian broadcasting industry. Keywords
