Abstract
We present experimental results on stress behavior in high-density optical ribbon cables, performed by means of two techniques: polarization mode dispersion and polarization optical time-domain reflectometry. Correlation between them and theoretical estimates demonstrate that in such cables part of the birefringence is deterministic.Keywords
