Abstract
A new species of blood-sucking midge from Singapore is described in all stages. Although the female alone would be classified as a species of the subgenus Lasiohelea, the larva and male show such distinctive characters that a new subgenus, Dacnoforcipomyia, has been erected to accommodate this species. A detailed study of the biology is presented, and comparison is made with members of closely related subgenera. Keywords
