Abstract
The neighborhood health center addresses itself to a major consequence of being poor—lack of access to good health care. Based on a study of 40 such centers, this discussion considers the many changes in staffing patterns and health care delivery. Analysis of the individual roles of the health care team and of the team as a unit points out the advantages and pitfalls in this rapidly emerging health care entity. Keywords
