Abstract
A series of tests on titanium dioxide (titania) is reported. A surface breakdown strength in excess of 60 kV/cm was established. A bond, formed by evaporating a thin film of aluminium onto the titania surface, proved successful in eliminating breakdown initiated at metal-ceramic contacts. Keywords
