On the Scattering Theory of the Dirac Equation

Abstract
It is shown that for sufficiently strong potentials, the Born approximation is not valid even at very high energies. A variational principle is derived for the phase shifts and applied to a simple case. Two exact expressions for the phase shifts are also found.Keywords
