Abstract
Upgrading to a newer data processing system is not simply a matter of removing the old equipment and plugging in the new. The older system's workload must be transferred to the newer one/p=n-/and the newer one is usually also a fundamentally different one. The effort involved in such a conversion is massive. The difficulties of obtaining a smooth transition from one machine to the next are immense. Keywords
