Bound states of the potentialV(r)=Z(r+β)

Abstract
We have studied the bound states of the potential V(r)=Z(r+β). The S-wave energy level E(β), as a function of the parameter β, has a logarithmic singularity at the origin. The imaginary part of E(β) for β0 goes as Z4+2lβ2+2l, where l is the angular momentum.
